Job Description

About SkinBit
SkinBit is a membership-based clinical skin-screening service. Members undergo a complete, high-resolution total-body and dermoscopic imaging session at a SkinBit clinic; board-certified dermatologists read the full record in depth, map every notable lesion, flag anything warranting a biopsy, and generate a structured findings report. The model is built around one premise: a thorough, expert-level skin examination that compounds in value each year the member returns.

The Role
SkinBit is expanding its reading team and looking for board-certified dermatologists with genuine dermoscopy expertise. The work is store-and-forward and remote — reads are performed from your own environment, on your own schedule, with no in-person component unless you choose it. The imaging standard is high: full total-body and dermoscopic capture, consistent across every member session. Your role is to apply that expertise to a structured read — assessing every lesion, distinguishing melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers from benign findings, and documenting conclusions clearly in patient-accessible clinical language. This is a completeness-first model, not a volume-first one.

Active licensure in California or Florida is required at the start. As SkinBit expands into additional states, readers will be expected to license accordingly — SkinBit covers all costs for new state licenses required for platform expansion.

What You Will Do

  • Perform structured remote reads of high-resolution total-body and dermoscopic image sets
  • Identify and characterize melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancers, and premalignant lesions
  • Map and annotate notable findings; track longitudinal change across annual member records
  • Document findings in clear, patient-accessible clinical language using SkinBit's structured reporting platform
  • Flag cases warranting biopsy or expedited referral through SkinBit's partner network
  • Participate in monthly clinical calibration sessions and peer-review processes
  • Obtain additional state licenses as SkinBit's reading network expands

What We Are Looking For

  • Board certification in Dermatology (ABMS or AOA); candidates actively completing certification may be considered
  • Active medical license in California or Florida — required at start
  • Formal dermoscopy training (residency, fellowship, or accredited coursework) or 5+ years of active, hands-on dermoscopy practice
  • Minimum 2 years post-residency clinical experience; 5+ years strongly encouraged
  • Demonstrated confidence distinguishing melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers from benign lesions on dermoscopic imaging
  • Strong written clinical communication — findings must be precise, structured, and patient-accessible
  • Comfort with digital imaging platforms and asynchronous reporting workflows
  • Willingness to license in additional states as the network expands

Why SkinBit
For most dermatologists, the clinical work — actually examining the skin, applying dermoscopy, making the call — is the part worth doing. SkinBit is built around that part, and only that part. No clinic overhead. No scheduling pressure. No prior authorizations. No waiting rooms. You read on your own time, in your own environment, and focus entirely on what you trained for. The imaging is comprehensive and standardized, so every read is clinically substantive. And because members return annually with a growing longitudinal record, each subsequent read is more informative than the last.

SkinBit also covers what other remote models leave to you: professional liability insurance is included at no cost, new state licensure fees are reimbursed, and there is an annual CME allowance. Full-time readers are eligible for equity participation.

If total-body skin examination and dermoscopy are the aspects of dermatology you find genuinely interesting — not incidental to your practice but central to it — this model was designed for you.

To Apply

Send your CV to career@skinbit.com and include: the state(s) where you hold an active medical license; a brief note on your dermoscopy background and approximate case volume; and your preferred engagement structure (full-time, part-time, or per-read).
